Cricket - More Than A Game
A small selection of work from a six month project as Photographer in Residence with Durham County Cricket Club during their
inaugral season in the First Class County Championships 1992.
Commissioned by Durham County Council Arts Libraries & Museums / Arts Council England
Concentrating on 'off field' activity rather than sporting action, the images capture the good humour and spirit of a truly Northern cricket club.
A touring exhibition was organised by Durham County Council Arts Libraries & Museums in 1993. The exhibition was subsequently shown at The Durham Art Gallery, Grey Art Gallery Hartlepool, The Bowes Museum and The MCC Museum - Lords Cricket Ground London.
The work is now in the permanent collection of The DLI Museum / Durham Art Gallery.
A selection of 40 prints were included in the Queen Anne Press publication " Durham - Past - Present - Future" written by cricketer David Graveny & commentator Jack Bannister.
